Benedict Cumberbatch's stalker has been leaving the weirdest things at his home
A mysterious figure ties red ribbons to an Oscar-nominated actor’s car and window, the mysterious message remains unknown and the person never seen. No, this isn’t the beginning to a Sherlock Holmes mystery, but reality for poor Benedict Cumberbatch.
It has been reported today that a female fan has been stalking the star of the BBC drama at his home in London, where he lives with his wife, Sophie, and their baby son.
The stalker is said to have visited his home on at least two occasions and left strange messages. But we’re glad to say while Benedict and his family are shaken it has been reported to the police and action has been taken.
‘Turning up at professional events is one thing, but arriving uninvited at the family home is quite another,’ sources close to the couple told The Mirror.
‘It might be that she thinks it’s harmless, but it does feel a bit sinister. Leaving red ribbons is obviously a bit of a game, but it does feel quite dark.’
Sources say that while Benedict is used to the persistent attention of hordes of teen girls – who dub themselves the Cumberbitches – the couple feel the obsessed fan has taken things too far.
We’re glad to hear Benedict and his family are a-okay!
