Mario wants the fairytale of finding the perfect girl

It seems impossible to believe that a year ago ‘love rat’ Mario Falcone confided to us he’d been battling depression and tried to take his own life after ending his 18-month relationship with Lucy Mecklenburgh, 22.

In a shocking interview, he told us: ‘I took an overdose of horrendously strong painkillers I’d got on holiday and washed them down with half a bottle of champagne.

‘I fell asleep and woke up at 5am being violently sick.’

Now, one year on, Mario, 26, is happy, healthy and looking forward to the future – with his wife! He just has to find her first…

I look at my life now, compare it to a year ago and it’s so much better,’ Mario tells us.

‘I’ve no stress now. It used to be a rarity for me to feel happy, but now it’s a rarity for me to feel down in the dumps.

‘I have a great family, great friends and I’m on a great show. What have I actually got to be upset about?’

Mario feels he’s ready to settle down and fall in love.

‘Girls are brought up wanting the fairytale and I think all boys want that eventually, too,’ he says.

‘I’m not going to lie. I do take a lot of girls out, but believe it or not I haven’t had sex for ages.

‘It’s really sad! I haven’t had sex in about two or three months.’
