Something he said, Ronaldo?
Whilst England have just about scraped through to the knockout stage of Euro 2016 (which is happening right now, in case you didn’t know), Cristiano Ronaldo‘s team, Portugal, have yet to go through after a couple of lacklustre performances.
The Portuguese hunk was expected to be one of the stars of the tournament, what with being arguably the best player in the world and all, but he’s yet to make his mark or even score a goal – even missing a penalty in his team’s last game.
And it looks as though his frustrations have reached breaking point, after the Real Madrid star was caught on camera throwing a hissy fit, which saw him grab a reporter’s microphone and chuck it into a lake.
Yikes! Something he said?
Hopefully the footballing star will be in better spirits when Portugal take on Hungary tonight, as the team at least a draw – but ideally a win – in order to progress to the final 16.
This latest outburst follows criticism Ron (can we call him Ron?) received following Portugal’s first game against Iceland, which ended in a 0-0 draw. Following the match, Ron (we’re going with it) threw some MAJOR shade at the Icelandic team, saying they had shown a ‘small mentality’ by not trying harder to win the match.
But he kind of made up for that outburst by holding off security guards in order to allow on eager fan who rushed onto the pitch following his team’s second match in order to get a selfie with his hero. Which is quite sweet, isn’t it?
We really hope he gets back to his goal-scoring ways soon so we can be treated to more of this…
