The gorgeous model opens up about how she’s dealing with her divorce from Brian McFadden
At a statuesque 5ft 11in, with abs you could grate cheese on and legs that go on forever, it’s no surprise Vogue Williams, 29, has been chosen as the face of businesswoman Michelle Mone’s new self tan range UTan. But although her star’s been very much in the ascendancy with modelling campaigns and US TV shows since splitting up with her husband, former Westlife star Brian McFadden, 35, Vogue’s far from crowing about it.
Talking candidly, she reveals she’s had little time to catch up with friends and family and insists she’s a long way from moving on…
How are you feeling since your split with Brian?
I’m not feeling amazing, as with any break-up, but we’re still friends and we’re still getting on. That’s the main thing.
Do you think there’s any chance of a reconciliation?
Weird question for now – I don’t really know. I don’t want to say too much because I’d hate for Brian’s kids to read anything that’s not true, which is a lot of stuff going around right now. I just think it’s unfair on them.
Will you keep in touch with his daughters Molly, 13, and Lilly-Sue, 12?
Yes, of course I will. They’re such lovely girls.
You said recently you ‘didn’t get married to get divorced’…
Whoever gets married, I’m sure they all want it to be for ever, but it hasn’t worked out like that. As long as me and Brian can stay friends, that would be the best thing to come out of it.
Have you been on any dates yet?
No, definitely not. I’m a very long way from being ready for that. I’m enjoying my own company right now and learning to be on my own. I’m not that good at being alone, so this is my time to learn.
When you’re ready, do you think you’ll go on Tinder?
I don’t think so. My friend loves it, but I don’t think I’ll go on it.
What’s your ideal man?
I just don’t think I’d like to say – I respect Brian too much. I wouldn’t like to read him saying something like that.
You’re going to be an auntie soon. Is it making you broody?
It’s so exciting. I’ve been broody forever – I love kids and being around them. But I’ll borrow my brother’s baby instead.
You’re the face of UTan, but have you ever had a fake tan disaster?
When I was 16 my hands went such a luminous orange they actually looked painful. I didn’t live that down for a long time. I tan twice a week – I’m obsessed with fake tan – and UTan’s amazing.
Was there ever a time when you weren’t body confident?
At 17 I put on a bit of extra weight because my body changed and I kept on eating, so I didn’t really like the way I looked then. I think at the moment I’m probably in the best shape I’ve ever been.
Would you ever have surgery?
I haven’t thought about it yet, but maybe when I get older. I’m going to grow old disgracefully!
What’s next for you?
I’m off to LA next month to finish the last episode of my Vogue Does series for Irish TV. There are other things coming up in the UK that I can’t talk about right now.
Ooh, Celebrity Big Brother?
No way! But I can’t wait to watch it. I love it and hopefully I’ll do bits with Rylan Clark for Bit On The Side, but I don’t think I could ever take part. A lot of really mad characters go in, which makes the show amazing, but I don’t think I’d be able to handle it!
