Now that his military career is over, the flame-haired Royl's next job is to meet the woman of his dreams
Form an orderly queue, ladies – Prince Harry is officially on the lookout for love. The 30-year-old Prince admitted last week that he’s ready to settle down and tie the knot.
Harry, who’s on a tour of New Zealand, revealed: ‘There come times when you think now is the time to settle down – or now is not, whatever way it is. But you can’t force these things. It will happen when it’s going to happen.’
Harry, who’s been single since last spring when he split with Cressida Bonas, is keen to have someone else in his life to share his royal burden with. He hinted that the arrival of big brother William‘s second child Princess Charlotte earlier this month has made him think about having a family of his own.
‘Of course I’d love to have kids right now but there’s a process that one has to go through,’ he said, with a wry smile. ‘Hopefully I’m doing alright by myself [but] it would be great to have someone else next to me to share the pressure.’
But whoever he chooses won’t have an easy ride. Being a princess isn’t all tiaras and balls at the palace – there’s plenty of public attention and constant royal engagements that would wear any commoner out.
Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty Magazine, says: ‘If it’s something you’ve been born into and accepted, then it’s not so bad. But if you step into it from the outside world, it’s so stressful. It’s like going to a wedding every single day of your life.’
Girls might be queuing up to follow in the footsteps of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, and go from a commoner to Royalty, but it’s more than likely Harry will end up with someone from his circle of friends. He met his ex Cressida Bonas through his cousin Princess Beatrice at the Valley Festival in Hampshire. Two years later the pair split, but still remain good mates.
Chelsy Davy, who he dated from 2004 until May 2010, is the daughter of a Zimbabwean millionaire. She attended William and Kate’s wedding but later admitted marrying a Royal ‘wasn’t a life’ for her.
Hazza’s also dated lingerie model Florence Brudenell-Bruce and was linked to X Factor presenter Caroline Flack and The Saturdays’ Mollie King. But the current favourite for him to get down on one knee to is German fashion model Anastasia Guseva, who he was linked to at the start of the year.
Royal expert Ingrid, author of A Century Of Royal Children, explains: ‘I think he needs someone probably quite old fashioned and orderly. I really feel that Harry needs someone very sane and very together. Probably quite sophisticated too.’
Thankfully Harry can dedicate more time for searching for ‘the one’ now that he’s left the army. Speaking in New Zealand, he said: ‘This part of the role is fantastic but William and I – both of us – feel as though we need to have a wage as well; to work with normal people to keep us sane, to keep us ticking along.’
