Simon Cowell reckons Strictly Come Dancing won’t offer too much competition this year…

That time of year has rolled around yet again, when our Saturday nights are taken over by reality shows The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing.

Last year, ITV’s The X Factor saw its ratings plummet as BBC rival Strictly gained the majority of viewers, but with a fresh panel of judges and some funky new ideas, could Simon Cowell’s X Factor be the 2015 winner?

Speaking at Wednesday night’s press launch, Simon, 55, learnt that Peter Andre was in the Strictly line-up. When told by a journalist that Pete was ‘the best they’ve got’, a cheeky Simon simply laughed and replied, ‘and who’s the worst?’

Ouch!

Nick Grimshaw answered his question by saying: ‘Peter Andre’.

Woah, woah, woah! We’re big fans of Pete and can’t wait to see him strut his stuff on the dancefloor!

So does Simon think X Factor can beat Strictly?

‘I hate to say yes, because I know what will happen if I say yes – it will come back and haunt me but the show does feel better, the talent is great so if it’s us versus Peter Andre – I’m gonna put my money on us,’ revealed Simon.

In 2014, The X Factor final actually hit a low as 8.4 million people tuned in- the lowest number of viewers in a decade. Strictly on the other hand, who had its semi-final show on the same night, gathered an audience of 9.9 million.

We can’t wait to see what this year has in store.

Simon and his Executive Producer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, 32, have brought in new judges Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw but the 2015 Strictly line-up also looks quite appealing.

Peter Andre will be joined by former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote, singer Jamelia and chef Ainsley Harriott.

Not too bad!

Tune in to The X Factor this Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
