‘On behalf of Zoe Ball, we would like to thank everyone for the kind messages and support during a very difficult time,’ the Tweet from Meryl Hoffman Management reads.

The message prompted further words of support for Zoe, 46, from fellow Twitter users.

‘on behalf of @ZoeTheBall fans we love you. Stay strong!’ one wrote in response, whilst another added: ‘feel the love Zoe, we miss you’

Zoe also reTweeted posts supporting Mental Health Awareness Week from the charity Heads Together and food writer Jack Monroe.

Jack’s message reads: ‘You don’t have to ‘man up’ – the biggest killer of men under 45 is suicide. The strongest thing to do is talk. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek’

It comes nearly a week since Antiques Roadshow cameraman Billy, 40, was found dead at his home in south London in a suspected suicide.

Zoe had been dating him for several months following her split from husband Norman Cook last year and his death is said to have left the mum-of-two utterly distraught.

‘Zoe is overcome with grief,’ a friend tells The Sun. ‘She is completely and utterly devastated.

‘Billy had made her happy again after the most horrendous year when her marriage broke down.’

Following the devastating news Zoe cancelled her scheduled presenting gig on her Radio 2 show over the weekend and was replaced by Kate Thornton, who sent out a touching message of support at the start of the show.

‘Sadly our lovely Zoe Ball can’t be here today,’ she began.

‘Before we get started can I just say from everyone on the show and here at Radio 2 our thoughts are with Billy, his family and friends and of course with you Zoe.

‘We are sending you the biggest of hugs.’
