See how their relationship has developed...
Abbey – who’s supported Blue on tour in her old girl group Genie Queen – has previously dated builder Ben Lunt.
The pretty Liverpool girl flies to Germany to watch Peter play for England in the 2006 World Cup but he publicly dumps her when photos surface of her snorting cocaine.
‘These pictures were taken years ago when I was in a band,’ says Abbey.
‘I was so young and everyone makes stupid mistakes, everyone has. It’s not just affecting me, it’s affecting my family.’
Abbey returns home from the World Cup early but has a second chance at fame when she’s chosen to compete on Britain’s Next Top Model.
After weeks of contestants being whittled down, Abbey is named runner-up.
Her modelling career isn’t the only thing going well for her during this time – she reveals in July 2006 that she’s managed to work things out with Peter.
‘It’s a new relationship, we’ve only been together a few months but we are totally happy and he’s amazing,’ she says.
In June 2009, Peter proposes to Abbey on holiday in Sardinia and he confirms that they’re expecting their first baby a year later.
The smitten pair marry at the 18th-century church in the grounds of Stapleford Park Hotel, Leicestershire in June 2011 – just three months after Abbey gives birth to their daughter Sophia.
Their nuptials are witnessed by 200 relatives and friends.
In March 2012, Abbey reveals that married life is rather stormy for her and Peter. But it’s clear that they love each other enough to make it work.
‘In a marriage, it’s important to accept that nobody’s perfect,’ she says.
‘There are so many dos and don’ts. We get into terrible fights. You learn that we all have faults, our ups and downs.’
