Stars who've become proud mums and dads this year

It’s always VERY exciting when a celebrity baby arrives into the world.

We love hearing that a star has given birth. It’s great to find out the news that they’ve welcomed a daughter or son – or perhaps even multiple newborns.

The first couple celebrating in our 2015 gallery are Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa Minnillo, who are introduced to their little girl on 5 January.

‘Nick, Camden and I are so excited to announce the birth of our sweet, beautiful baby girl, Brooklyn Elisabeth Lachey! She was born January 5, 2015 at 5.17pm,’ writes Vanessa on her website.

‘She weighed in at 7lbs15oz, is 21 inches long and has already won over all of our hearts. I have been dreaming of this moment for as long as I can remember, the day I was going to meet my little girl.’

Nick and Vanessa married in 2011 and welcomed their son Camden a year later.

As you’ll see in our gallery, VIPs confirm the arrival of their bubbas in various different ways. Some use Twitter or Facebook while others – like Vanessa – post messages on their own websites.

A few prefer to stay more private, leaving their representatives to reveal the news. When Liv Tyler and Dave Gardner meet their son in February, a statement reads: ‘He?s healthy and everyone is very happy.’ Nawww.

In Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins’ case, her co-star Susanna Reid tells the world first!

Despite what some may believe, the majority of celebs’ tots are given traditional names. Ali Larter and Hayes MacArthur name their daughter Vivienne and Una and Ben Foden’s son is given the traditional Irish moniker Tadhg.

However, a small minority like to think outside the box. Holby City’s Rosie Marcel and her hubby Ben Stacey call their little girl Beau.
