The rise to fame of the Kardashian sisters
The Kardashian kids have found a lot of fame over the years.
Kourtney is the first of the Kardashian children – born to Robert and Kris Kardashian in April 1979 – before being joined by sister Kim in October 1980.
Khloe follows in June 1984 and only boy Robert Jr arrives in March 1987. The siblings grow up in privileged circumstances as their father is a renowned Hollywood lawyer.
The siblings get their exotic looks from their diverse heritage – their dad’s family is Armenian.
In 1990, the Kardashian kids have to deal with their parents’ decision to divorce after 12 years of marriage.
But their family soon extends when Kris marries Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner in April 1991. She admits their union is quick, joking: ‘I don’t mess around.’
The Kardashian kids gain stepbrothers Burt, Brandon and Brody and a stepsister named Casey.
Bruce and Kris go on to have two daughters together. Kendall is born in November 1995 and Kylie makes her entrance in August 1997.
In September 2003, the Kardashian kids are left devastated when their father Robert passes away following a short battle with cancer.
Already a socialite, Kim is thrust into the limelight in February 2007 when a sex tape featuring her with then-boyfriend Ray J is released.
That August, it’s announced that television channel E! have decided to screen a new reality TV show following the lives of the family.
The programme is a huge success and the girls go on to star in several spin-offs including Kourtney and Khloe Take The Hamptons and Kourtney And Kim Take Miami.
Away from the screen, the Kardashians have helped each other through tough times.
In December 2012, Rob goes through a messy split with singer Rita Ora and Khloe is arrested for drink-driving after a night out in LA in March 2007.
Bruce and Kris confirm that they’ve ended their marriage in October 2013.
But there have also been plenty of happier times for the family. In May 2014, they head to Italy for Kim’s wedding to Kanye West and they support Kendall as she models in several fashion shows.
