Find out how the stars stay stylish during the early morning dash to school

Turn the school crawl into a real life catwalk, with the help of some handy celeb style inspo.

You’ll find it’s actually realy easy when you know what to wear, just check out our key must have items for Mum’s (and Dad’s ) heading back to cool this autumn.

1. A luxe coverup.

An expensive looking jacket or coat can spruce up the most casual looking outfit. So you don’t have to make any effort underneath, a jeans and tee will do, just chuck on your coverup and everyone will assume you’re well put together underneath too. Clever!

2. A light cream, grey or camel coloured jumper.

This season our knits are looking mighty fine. And you don’t have to splurge on cashmere to make your wardrobe look wit-woo, as there’s so many softer than soft materials out there that look like they cost a bomb. Oasis are currently our leading fave, with colours and fabrics we want to make a bed in.

Style tip: Buy in a bigger size than you would normally wear, so it looks slouchy and follow Sarah Jessica Parker’s footsteps and pair with sunnies to cover dark circles, a cross over bag, so hands can be free – essential right? And of course the obvious comfy oh-so causal, yet very cool trainer pump.

3.  A printed scarf.

Tie over a simple jumper to get instant school gate style credentials and go one step further by copying Claudia Schiffer completely by adding a waist belt too.

4. A blazer.

Victoria Beckham has had enough practise at dressing for the new term with her clan of Beckhamites. We loved her look way back when she and David lived in Madrid and she rocked the sleek original WAG look with flared jeans, a vest, a clean cut blazer and of course her staple aviator shades. It still works.

5. Swish sunnies. From covering eyebags to no make up’d eyes this one doesn’t really need explaining, just go get some even if it’s raining.

6.  A patterned top. Lets be brutally honest, no matter how much we love fashion we are never giving up our comfy trews, but making more of an effort with our top half, we can do!. Make like Fearne Cotton with a sparkly tee or Mylene Klass with her dotted teapot print jumper.

7. A wide brimmed hat. No time to spruce up your hair? Be a hat person this season and bag yourself a some floppy shaped boho headgear. See ya later kinky bed hair. #NotLikeThat #WeWish
