All you need to know about George Clooney's latest lady friend
I didn’t even know George Clooney had a girlfriend, let alone an alleged ‘fiancée’ – Amal Alamuddin. And is it just me, or does she look a little like him?
That’s meant to be a good sign for the longevity of a relationship, apparently. Although if that’s true then my husband and I wouldn’t have lasted five minutes.
According to E! news, it’s reported that Amal was seen with a ‘massive’ ring on her finger on Thursday at the Nobu restaurant in Malibu. The Hollywood actor Edward Norton approached the table and the couple told him they were engaged.
She must have good taste in restaurants as they were spotted at the stunning Berners Tavern in London late last year too.
Last year George told Esquire magazine: ‘I haven’t had aspirations in that way, ever. I was married in 1989. I wasn’t very good at it. I was quoted as saying I’ll never get married again pretty much right after I got divorced and then I’ve never talked about it since.’
So who is the incredible lady who has brought one of Hollywood’s most notorious batchelors to his knees?
Here’s eight facts about her.
1.) Beirut-born Amal Alamuddin is 36-years-old, so when Amal was a newborn, George was celebrating his sixteenth birthday! Weird.
2.) She’s a top lawyer, in fact one of her clients was Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
3.) She’s also the legal advisor to the King of Bahrain. The KING!
4.) She is fluent in both French and Arabic. Clever.
5.) In 2013 she was voted the hottest barrister in London. I wasn’t aware such voting happened.
6.) She is super intelligent, she graduated from none other than Oxford university.
7.) She is an adviser on Syria to The UN Special Envoy Kofi Annan.
8.) She writes too. Her work has been published in multiple books, including The Law and Practice of the Special Tribunal For Lebanon.
