All I want from Downton Abbey Season 3 is for Thomas and Jimmy's gay romance to happen

I don’t envy gay valet Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier) on Downton Abbey.

Being gay in 1920 can’t have been fun – especially if you were stuck in the Yorkshire countryside, hundreds of miles away from the nearest gay bar (according to Wikipedia, London’s first gay pub, The Cave Of The Golden Calf, opened in 1912).

Still, if you were forced to hide your sexuality, then Downton Abbey‘s closets look fabulous. It’s no wonder that all Thomas Barrow does is scheme and plot – all that sexual tension’s bound to make one bitchy.

But with the arrival of the incredibly dishy and delish first footman Jimmy Kent (Ed Speleers), it seems Thomas Barrow has a heart underneath all those layers of nastiness. Gurl has feelings *pouts and snaps*!

Sadly, thanks to out-for-revenge O’Brien (Siobhan Finneran), Thomas‘s headed for heartbreak.

While Sunday night’s preview showed Thomas sneaking into Jimmy‘s room while he’s asleep, I reckon Jimmy‘s not going to be, ahem, receptive to Thomas‘s advances (fool!).

I’m going to spend the next couple of days praying that I’m wrong and that Thomas and Jimmy get together after all – if the valet’s shoes end up knocking, then Downton Abbey‘s just got rocking!
