We had a boy win last year - I think this series should be won by lovely Ruby

What’s a traybake when it’s at home, and who cares, anywho?

Well up to six million people in the UK, actually, according to viewing figures. So there.

Ah, yes – it’s that time of the week – Great British Bake Off time!

(A traybake, by the way, cake fans, is a cake baked in a big ole’ tin, then cut into squares. So think brownies, flapjacks and Tottenham cake and you’re there. Yum.)

We’re midway through series four of The Great British Bake Off, and I think I’ve definitely got a favourite baker.

She’s called Ruby Tandoh, and I kind of want to be her.

Southend-born Ruby is 21 and a philosophy student at University College London.

In between cooking up a storm (last night Ruby made a blackberry and lemon pastry slice, which the judges deemed excellent’), she’s blowing my mind with her collection of vintage clothes.

See above for last night’s gorgeous patterned cardi. I’m betting she got it from Oxfam, but I WANT ONE.

Gorgeous hair, awesome clothes, brains, beauty, a dab hand in the kitchen, and an amazing Essex lilt – what’s not to love about Ruby!?

Oh, and Ruby used to be a model when she was a teen. She’s too cool!

Go Ruby – she’s my bet as this year’s winner.
