Simon Cowell has a dig at Alesha Dixon

Simon Cowell is said to have offended new Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon after he suggested during auditions that her view is of no significance.

The pair clashed when Alesha told dance group Lil’ Diamondz – winners of her CBBC show Street Dance Stars – that they ‘hadn’t let her down’ on the BGT stage this weekend.

‘What a silly comment to make,’ Simon, 52, told Alesha, 33.

‘That’s a silly thing to say, Alesha.’

He continued: ‘Sorry, who are you, anyway?’

Alesha reportedly ‘clammed up and look really embarrassed’ after Simon‘s comments, which prompted gasps and boos from the crowd in Birmingham.

But Simon, who poached Alesha from the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel, didn’t mean to offend the former Mis-Teeq singer.

‘He never intended to slight Alesha,’ a source close to the mogul tells the Daily Mirror.

‘It was all harmless banter.

‘He always bickers with his fellow judges. It’s light-hearted fun which is just part of the show.’
