Singer won't be joining the BBC programme

Cheryl Cole won’t be appearing on new BBC talent show The Voice when it launches this month.

The Geordie singer was reportedly close to signing a deal to help her manager and friend Will.i.am, 36, mentor his acts – but seems it isn’t so.

A spokesman for Cheryl has confirmed that ‘there is no truth’ to the rumours she’s joining the show.

‘We’d welcome her to appear as a guest mentor or a singer,’ a BBC source told the Daily Star.

Will is a very charismatic man and can be very persuasive, so undoubtedly he is going to pull some strings.’

If Cheryl, 28, had agreed to take part, it would have been ‘perfect revenge’ after being axed from US X Factor last year as The Voice will go up against Simon Cowell‘s Britain’s Got Talent in the ratings battle.
