Kate's former wheels to feature on Four Rooms
Kate Middleton‘s modest Volkswagen Golf makes a rather unsuccessful appearance on TV auction show Four Rooms tonight.
Sonny and Casey Brazil hope to get more than £70,000 for the motor, which belongs to their dad, when they attempt to sell it to 4 dealers – but it fails to get snapped up.
‘In 15 to 20 years you will probably have a £200,000 to £250,000 car,’ dealer Jeffrey Salmon tells the boys.
‘You will be mugs if you flog it now!’
The Duchess of Cambridge, 30, bought the 1.4 litre blue motor for £10,000 in 2001 and used it at St Andrews university when she was dating Prince William and later when she worked at Jigsaw in London.
But fellow expert Celia Sawyer, who had her £8,000 bid turned down by the boys, isn’t convinced the vehicle’s worth much.
‘Kate wasn’t a princess when she owned the car,’ says Celia. ‘That’s the point they are missing.’
Sonny previously put the VW on eBay but this also proved unsuccessful.
Four Rooms airs on Channel 4 at 8pm.
