Actress has played Debbie Dingle for 12 years

Charley Webb admits she’s not the best at doing love scenes.

The actress has had lots of on-screen boyfriends in her role as Emmerdale‘s Debbie Dingle but still struggles with getting intimate on camera.

‘I have never got used to doing [love scenes] with anybody – I find it difficult to be sexy,’ says Charley, 26.

‘That’s not me. I’m not flirtatious and I’m quite shy.

‘Every time after the first take in a kissing scene, the director will ask: “Can you do it a bit more sexy, Charley?”

Every time. It usually takes quite a few takes.’

One of Debbie‘s most recent love interests was Pete Barton, who’s played by former Hollyoaks star Anthony Quinlan.

Anthony happens to be best mates with Charley‘s actor brother Jamie Lomas, which made the snogging scenes even more awkward.

‘We pre-warned Jamie about it,’ Charley tells TV Magazine.

‘He’s not keen – even though he’s an actor too, he’s definitely an overprotective brother.’

See Charley Webb at the British Soap Awards 2014 on Sunday 25 May at 8.15pm on ITV.
