The Corrie star is taking no chances with her pregnancy


Kym Marsh has gone on early maternity leave from Coronation Street as she battles flu

ahead of her baby’s birth in April.

‘She wasn’t heavily involved in the 50th

anniversary tram crash
because that could have been added stress she

didn’t need,’ an insider tells the Daily Star.

‘And she felt the best thing was to start her maternity

leave well ahead of the birth.’


actress, who plays Michelle Connor in the soap, is at her Manchester home fighting the

illness, and worried Corrie bosses did not hesitate to allow her time off.

Kym, 34, and fiancé Jamie Lomas, 30, were left devastated when their son Archie died moments after his

premature birth in February 2009.

has taken to Twitter to thank

fans for their good wishes.

‘Thank you so

much for all your get well messages. Feeling a little better today,’

told followers.

Fears she has swine flu have been ruled out. But ‘everyone is being vigilant,’ a source tells the Sun.
