Lisa wows the Strictly judges thanks to a secret sign from her late mother

As she cha-cha-chas on to the dancefloor, there’s no doubt that she’s fast becoming the nation’s sweetheart.

But Now can reveal that Lisa Riley‘s standout performances on Strictly Come Dancing with partner Robin Windsor, 33, are down to her belief that her late mum sent her a sign that it would be alright on the night.

A show insider says: ‘On the day of the first live show Lisa had a minor panic attack and went to her dressing room to say a little prayer.

‘She asked her mum for a sign that everything was going to be OK – and it came in the form
of her dance partner.

‘Usually Robin wears white to show off his tan but as soon as Lisa saw him backstage at rehearsals he was wearing a yellow top.

‘That was her mum’s favourite colour, so when she saw that Lisa just knew.’

The former Emmerdale actress, 36, was left devastated just weeks before starting Strictly as her mum Cath, 57, died in her arms after a long battle with cancer.

In a recent interview, Lisa revealed that her mum was first diagnosed with breast cancer 12 years ago and passed away in July after the disease spread.

Our source adds: ‘When she saw what Robin was wearing, Lisa burst into tears.

‘She knew her mother was with her and it gave her the strength to pull off the performance.’

It led to Lisa and Robin topping the leader board in week one with 30 points out of a possible 40.

You go girl!
