Speaking on the radio show, she said: ‘I’ve done different types of dancing… but dancing in Eternal in Caterpillar boots isn’t quite the tango.’
The singer, who is married to ex-footballer Jamie Redknapp, added: ‘I’ve always loved the programme but I never thought I would do it. I don’t quite know how I’m here… my husband is laughing at me.’
There were rumours that Louise was joining the show earlier in the year, with a source telling The Sun: ‘Louise has been top of the Strictly hit list for years. She’s a huge star and they feel she will bring class and glamour.
‘They’re absolutely thrilled they’ve finally got her.’
She joins the likes of Melvin Odoom, Ore Oduba and Laura Whitmore, with even more contestants yet to be announced.
