Matt Smith vows to leave fans thoroughly impressed

Doctor Who star Matt Smith says he’s been kept ‘in the dark’ about plans for the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who in 2013.

Matt, 30, says he’ll be joined by new sidekick Jenna-Louise Coleman for next year’s episodes of the show, but the pair don’t yet know what it will be about.

‘We’ve spent the last six months saving the world 10 times, running down corridors, fighting monsters,’ says Jenna-Louise, 26.

The actress is having great fun working with Matt, who is the eleventh doctor.

The pair have already become close friends filming their roles in the iconic show.

‘We’ve been through things that you can’t have anywhere else,’ she says.

‘It’s a bonding experience unlike any other show,’ Matt tells BBC’s Newsbeat.
