The actress announces news on Twitter

Helen Flanagan will guest star in an upcoming episode of Holby City.

The former Coronation Street actress has landed the role of lazy agency nurse Kirsty in the BBC medical drama and she can’t wait to get started.

‘I’m really pleased to be working in a show I really enjoy,’ says Helen, 23.

Executive producer Oliver Kent is equally happy, telling The Sun: ‘We’re delighted to have Helen on the show. She’s going to ruffle some feathers.

‘So it’s definitely an episode to watch.’

It’s over two years since Helen – who played Rosie Webster in Corrie from 2000 to 2012 – last appeared on screens as an actress.

Since then she’s focused on modelling and has also done reality shows including I’m A Celebrity and Celebrity Super Spa.

But now Helen says she’s very ready to be an actress again.

‘I am so excited for my new role on holby city absolutely loving getting back into my acting #nursehels 🙋💗❤️ xxx,’ the brunette babe tells Twitter fans.

Helen‘s episode will be screened in July.
