Our excitement about the new series of The X Factor just got cracked up to 11 with the release of this trailer

If you weren’t already excited about the new series of The X Factor, then this just-released video should do the trick!

The official trailer for the 2015 series of the show was released earlier today, and it’s left us barely able to contain ourselves ahead of it’s return this autumn.

The one-minute video – which debuts on ITV1 just before 7.30pm tonight, ahead of the latest instalment of Coronation Street – features X Factor faces old and new.

The trailer opens with newly-promoted hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs inside an undercover laboratory where they are excited to meet the judging team and reveal the secret formula behind the new series.

New judge Nick Grimshaw is seen being fitted with a special judging microchip, only to realise it’s from last year’s series – causing him to chirp “you look like a pop star, you sound like a pop star.” Sound familiar?

Meanwhile, Rita Ora is sent to contestant feedback training, whilst Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been cloned into an army of Chez-Bots, able to turn on the required emotion – including a monotonous “I know exactly what you’re going through, pet” – on cue.

And when it comes to big boss Simon Cowell, he brags “I’ve already found this year’s winner. It’s a group. Girls are going to love them. Boys are going to love them. Bigger than One Direction.”

But before you start shouting about it all being a fix, the ‘group’ is quickly revealed to be Simon’s dogs, Squiddly and Diddly, who are seen crooning to You Raise Me Up. Lols!

Yet perhaps the most surprising moment of all come right at the end, when Louis Walsh is seen in a janitor’s outfit mopping the lab’s floor. Could this hint at a surprise comeback – or just be an extra dig in the former judge’s ribs? Watch the trailer below and decide for yourself!
