Targeting all areas of the face and neck, Now’s tested the best beauty bits in the business, including:

THE INDUSTRY FAVE: Fillerina 14 Day Treatment, from £79

THE CELEB FAVE: £18.95 Frownies Facial Patches for Wrinkles on the Forehead & Between Eyes

THE NEWBIE: £56 Rodial GlamTox Neck Mask Firm and Tone

THE ONE THE INTERNET’S TALKING ABOUT: £43 Jeunesse Instantly Ageless Sachets (for eyes)

1] First up: THE FOREHEAD:
CELEB FAVE: £18.95 Frownies Facial Patches for Wrinkles on the Forehead & Between Eyes

Wrinkles, lines, furrows, character lines, creases… whatever you call them, humankind is on a quest to quash them! From so-hot-right-now retinol to collagen-boosting Hyaluronic Acid, this smooth operator is on every beauty blogger and editor’s forehead fix-list:

Now Style Content Director Gilly Ferguson (32.5 yrs!) says: ‘My problem zone? THAT *&^&% line between my eyes! I call it my Harry Potter ‘wizard scar’ to make it sound cute – in reality it’s a whopping great wrinkle that makes me look cross 24/7. Can Frownies fix it? Er, yes.

‘It shocked me too! And my shocked face looks less lined… Result. Frownies are said to retrain facial muscles to lie smooth and flat, whatever the did it worked. Albeit temporarily.

VERDICT: Not one for new relationships or those who embarrass easily, you do feel like a bit of a plonker with it on (though serves me right for trialing it at my desk!) It basically feels like a Biore strip (furry foreheads beware!) – and do peel it off gently. However. it DID flatten out my wizard scar for a solid 9 hour day in the office. Pleasantly surprised.’

THE INDUSTRY FAVE: Fillerina 14 Day Treatment, from £79

We lose approx 1% of the skin’s collagen reserves every year, from age 25.

skin is now the UK’s #1 ageing concern, leaving wrinkles in it’s wake.
So cue the new wave of topical fillers here to put the OOMPF back in
your skin

‘Evidence suggest that creams containing retin-A can
stimulate collagen growth’, says dermatologist Dr Nick Lowe. In turn,
Hyaluronic acid stimulates fibroblasts to boost production of collagen.
While you shouldn’t expect the dramatic results of a surgical treatment,
these top *new* buys DO mean we get the filler-effect, minus the need
for needles…

Fillerina is the at-home kit that’s causing a stir amongst beauty bloggers and editors alike. What’s in it? A Dermo-Cosmetic Gel Filler (packed with Hexapeptides, and Hyaluronic Acid) as well as a Nourishing Film to hydrate and rejuvenate your skin. Does it live up to the hype? YES, YES AND MORE YESSES!

It was tricky to start with – and the leaflet could do with pictures to show you how to apply it – but once you get to grips with it, GREAT! We used it on fine lines around our lips and eyes, as well as to plump up my cheeks.

VERDICT: 8 days in and already impressed. Granted it won’t have the same dramatic results as surgical fillers – but for a 32 year old with an aversion to needles, hells yes it’s worth the investment.’

It’s a 14 day treatment, so we’d recommend using it in the run up to a big event like a wedding, or if you’re going to run into an ex and want to show off your ‘yoof’ new look!

THE ONE THE INTERNET’S TALKING ABOUT: £3 for 1: Jeunesse Instantly Ageless Sachets (for eyes)

‘The founders of Jeunesse – Lipotec – found that acetyl hexapeptide-3 (the product’s key peptide) helps to destabilizes one of the proteins that causes muscle contractions, much like frowning. Which is probably why they’re calling it ‘Botox in a bottle’…

One look at the reviews and you’ll see it doesn’t have long-lasting effects – neither is it easily worn under make up (it cakes) but the website states that the effects last two or three days.

VERDICT: The fact of the matter is: THIS VIDEO TRIAL IS INCREDIBLE. Watch the results below:

£56 Rodial GlamTox Neck Mask Firm and Tone

‘Like Jourdan Dunn, Rodial is one of my go-to skincare brands – I swear by the stuff! Unlike Jourdan Dunn, I don’t have a modeling campaign – or a lot of cash to spend on beauty bits willy-nill,’ says Now’s Gilly.

So is their Neck Mask worth the dollar?

Using bio-cellulose technology to lift, tone and hydrate the neck area – Rodial call it their ‘second skin, which adheres to the neck area to have a direct anti-wrinkle effect’

‘You’ll feel like a bit of an eejit with it on, but it definitely tightened and lifted the skin… Did it last? It felt seriously hydrated for hours after use, but is definitely one to try at home – kicked back in your PJs with a hair mask thrown on for good measure.

I realized this as it slowly slide down my neck, and plopped onto my keyboard – much to the disgust of my Now colleagues.

An indulgent treat for those who are worried about an ageing neck, but – despite the powerful hit of hydration – it won’t be one my shopping list for another decade or so’
