Prince Harry hopes to be trained by NASA
Wills‘ little brother is a big Star Trek fan and dreams of becoming an honourary member of NASA.
But the 26-year-old Army Air Corps captain will need to undertake a minimum of 1,000 hours of advanced jet engine flight time to be considered by the US space programme.
‘Harry has already completed his studies of Land and Sea Surveillance and Oceanology – part of Astro training – and can’t wait to get into one of NASA‘s T38 training jets,’ says a royal source.
‘It’s his dream to be the first Royal in space.’
Harry plans to aim for the stars after his return from Afghanistan next year.
‘His service with the Army Air Corps has been exemplary, which puts him in good stead,’ the source tells The Sun.
‘There’s no chance of him walking on the Moon, but he wants to train with NASA – and is determined to get on a Virgin Galactic flight.’
A spokesman for Clarence House says: ‘We are not officially aware of this.’
