Posh and Becks thought very carefully about Harper Seven's name
Sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 6, are huge fans of Disney show The Wizards Of Waverley Place, which stars a character called Harper Finkle.
But David has revealed that Harper is actually inspired by author Harper Lee, who wrote To Kill A Mocking Bird, a novel set in Alabama during America’s Great Depression.
‘A lot of thought goes into our children’s names and Harper was a name we’ve loved for a long time for a couple of reasons,’ Becks explains in a video on his Facebook page.
‘One of them was because Harper is an old English name which we loved and one of the other reasons is because Victoria’s favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird and the author was Harper Lee. And it’s a very strong, passionate book, so that’s where Harper came from.’
Though Seven was the footballer’s shirt number for many years, the 36-year-old had another reason for choosing Harper‘s middle name.
‘The reason behind Seven is that it symbolises spiritual perfection and is a lucky number around the world,’ he says.
‘We love the name. We love Harper Seven and we’re very proud of having her in our family.’
