The former Disney star hits back at Twitter users criticising her appearance
Demi Lovato has expressed her anger over Twitter users criticising her appearance at the VMAs on Sunday night.
The 19-year-old former Disney star, whose issues with eating led to her entering a rehabilitation clinic in October last year, was visibly fuller-figured at the event.
Shortly after she presented an award at the ceremony, Demi became a trending topic on Twitter, with many of the Tweets making nasty comments about her size.
‘I’ve gained weight. Get over it. That’s what happens when you get out of treatment for AN EATING DISORDER,’ the singer Tweeted in reply.
Demi later reconsidered her response, deleting the Tweet.
In its place, she says: ‘Guess what, I’m healthy and happy, and if you’re hating on my weight you obviously aren’t.’
Seeing that the star was upset, Demi‘s fans rallied round her, and ‘Demi is stunning’ soon became a trending topic on the social networking site.
Demi was spotted chatting to her ex-boyfriend and Camp Rock co-star Joe Jonas at the event on Sunday, with the pair appearing to get along well.
