Now's Style Editor Alison Tay gets an access-all-areas pass to Fearne Cotton's fashion show
Is Fearne Cotton the coolest mum-to-be on the block?
She is in our eyes after we went backstage at her new spring/summer 2013 catwalk show for Very.co.uk.
The 31-year-old, who’s shunning ‘rank’ maternity wear, showcased her collection at London’s Claridges hotel.
Despite her famous and fabulous friends being out in full force – Keith Lemon, Reggie Yates, Professor Green and Millie Mackintosh and Olympian Greg Rutherford – all eyes were on Fearne’s boyfriend and baby daddy Jesse Wood, 35, on the front row.
And it was his model sister Leah, 34, whom Fearne picked to close the show.
‘I chose Leah as my muse because not only does it keep it in the family, but also because she just has such a unique, amazing look,’ Fearne tells us.
Being in the family way certainly suits Fearne, who’s never looked peachier.
But don’t expect the fashionista to turn her hand to designing maternity wear anytime soon.
‘I’m not a fan,’ she admits.
‘I don’t want to wear elasticated waistbands. I’m wearing my range, but just in a size 14.’
And if all else fails for Fearne, there’s always best friend Holly Willoughby’s wardrobe: ‘Holly’s lent me a really beautiful Alice Temperley dress for a wedding I’m going to soon.’
Any fashion disasters?
‘No more than normal.
‘Because you’re not your natural body shape, you have to put a bit of extra effort in to feel lovely and really try to embrace your changing body.’
And that’s not all Fearne’s embracing.
‘I’m eating cakes every bloody day. If you’re going to do it, you may as well do it now!’
