Taylor Swift says she is 'straight-up enemies' with a singer - and we've got evidence she's talking about Katy Perry
In a new Rolling Stone magazine interview, butter wouldn’t melt Taylor reveals there is a female singer who she’s straight-up enemies’ with – and now everyone believes it’s Katy.
She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, “Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?”,’ Taylor said without straight out naming the girl. [Then last year] she did something so horrible. I was like, “Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.” And it wasn’t even about a guy!’
Apparently, Taylor and her friend (ahem, Katy) fell out over a work situation. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,’ Taylor says. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.’
And we’ve discovered evidence to prove it’s Katy who poor Taylor has cut out of her life!
Last December, dancer Lockhart Brownlie said he and two other dancers had quit Taylor‘s Red tour to dance with Katy on her Prism dates.
I was with Taylor for the first six months … but then Katy contacted us,’ he told an Australian paper. We weren’t really dancing in Taylor‘s tour anyway so I had got a little bored, and I really wanted to do a promo tour.’
Well that must have been awkward!
Taylor has admitted there might have been a more personal element to the fall out than just business saying, ‘But I don’t think there would be any personal problem if she weren’t competitive.’
Er, the fact both Taylor and Katy have dated John Mayer springs to mind!
Now, Katy‘s posted a criptic tweet saying, Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…‘ referring to the Rachel McAdams character who faced off against Lindsay Lohan in the 2004 hit comedy Mean Girls. Hmmm…
Taylor’s new song Bad Blood from her forthcoming album, 1989 out on 27 October, is all about the betrayal.
I know people are going to obsess over who [Bad Blood is] about … I know people will make it this big girl-fight thing,’ poor Taylor says. But there’s a reason there are not any overt call-outs in that song. My intent was not to create some gossip-fest. I wanted people to apply it to a situation where they felt betrayed in their own lives. I’m not the female police, but it broke my heart. Because I have such a high priority on girls sticking together.’
At least loyal Taylor still has BFFs Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Lorde, Emma Stone, Sarah Hyland and Dianna Agron to bake cakes and talk about boys with. And us!
