Yes, you read that right - Emilia Clark, star of one of the raunchiest shows on TV, doesn't like sex scenes
She stars in one of the most explicit shows on TV, so you’d expect Game Of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke to be alright with a raunchy scene or two.
But it seems the actress, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, isn’t actually that cool about it. Speaking to the Daily Mail yesterday, she admitted that she finds the scenes uncomfortable, and would prefer them to be a bit more subtle. We hate to break it to you, Emilia, but you might be on the wrong show!
‘Sex scenes should be more subtle!’ she said. ‘I’m British, so I cringe at that sort of thing anyway, I can’t stand it.’
In a brilliant display of irony, she added: ‘I don’t want to have sex thrown in my face and I’ve always thought the suggestion is so much more titillating than the act itself.’ Try telling that to the Game Of Thrones screenwriters, Emilia!
Well, actually, that’s just what she did. According to her co-star Oona Chaplin, who plays Talisa Stark, Emilia refused two years ago to do any more topless scenes, saying she wanted to be known for her acting and not her breasts.
We have to say, we totally respect her for that, but we have a feeling it’ll be a while before Game Of Thrones is a completely boob-free zone…
