Actress Hannah Waterman gets hitched to former EastEnders co-star

Hannah Waterman, 31, has married her former EastEnders co-star Ricky Groves.

The actress, who played downtrodden Laura Beale in the BBC1 soap, wed 38-year-old Ricky in a country church on Dartmoor.

Fellow Albert Square residents, including Shane Ritchie and Letitia Dean, attended the service at Inwardleigh, near Okehampton, Devon.

Hannah, daughter of Minder star Dennis Waterman, met Ricky in 2000 when he joined the cast.

The couple, who will be celebrating six years together this month, started dating when their characters had an on-screen fling and managed to keep their relationship secret from colleagues for eight months.

Ricky, who plays Garry Hobbs in the soap, popped the question on a romantic retreat to Barbados in February last year, having already formally asked Hannah’s father, Dennis, for her hand in marriage.

Before the wedding, Hannah beamed: ‘I couldn’t think of anything nicer than confirming how I feel about the man I love.’ She added that her dad was looking forward to giving her away.

‘With Hannah it was almost love at first sight for me…but she needed a bit more convincing!’ joked Ricky.
