As the actor celebrates his 39th birthday, we take a look at some of his style highs and lows over the years...
He first caught our eye when he played the character of Sherlock Holmes in the 2010 television series and since then we think Benedict Cumberbatch has, like a fine wine, got better with age!
So, as the actor, who is married to Sophie Hunter, celebrates his 39th birthday on Sunday, we thought we would dig out some pictures from the last decade to prove the dad-of-one has gone from an average-looking bloke to an absolute babe.
Fresh-faced Benedict starred in the television series FortySomething back in 2003.
A year later, the star sported a bit of a fluffy hair do and some dodgy sideburns on the set to The Ends of The Earth in Richard’s Bay. We can’t say we’re bowled over by this look.
In 2008, the actor let grew his mop grow and become untamed. It basically looked like he’d been caught in the rain minus an umbrella and had let his barnet dry naturally – not the best look.
We have no idea what’s going on here! As he turned up to the King’s Speech premiere in London, Benedict rocked a hair style that looked like his nan had grabbed a bowl, shoved it on his head and cut around it. It’s definitely channelling a H from Steps circa 1999 vibe.
In the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy film premiere in 2011, Benedict rocked a side parting hairstyle. But while his wavy locks were styled better than the previous premiere he attended, his eyebrows could have done with the same treatment.
A year later Benedict sported a slicked back ‘do at the BAFTA TV Party in LA. While it’s still arguably better than his H from Steps look, we think this style makes Benedict look older than his years.
Now we’re talking! At the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Benedict looked handsome in a gelled side ‘do.
Look at those green eyes! Short hair and little bit of facial is definitely a good look for Benedict.
With a golden tan, a bit of stubble and perfectly tamed eyebrows, Benedict looks gorge! One word – fit.
