Despite being all smiles on The X Factor, Cheryl is reportedly going through a difficult time privately
And despite her recently insisting that all is well, it’s been reported that the 32-year-old is going through a stressful family matter behind the scenes.
Sources say that Cheryl has been travelling back and forth between London and her home city of Newcastle to deal with the difficult situation and it sounds like it’s taking its toll.
‘Cheryl’s been going through a great deal of stress recently and has been left very upset over this matter,’ the insider says.
‘It’s constantly on her mind and is definitely a contributing factor to her weight loss.
‘She has chosen not to publicly address the situation but rather maintain a dignified silence and get on with things.’
Cheryl is of course very busy at the moment, what with the latest series of The X Factor in full swing. As well as acting as a judge the singer has added responsibility now too as she was recently promoted to executive producer of the show.
Other commitments in her schedule recently included the launch of her own chocolate bar at Greggs, with proceeds going to her charity Cheryl’s Trust.
‘She is putting on a brave face and trying to focus on work as much as she can to take her mind off things,’ the source tells The Sun On Sunday.
‘Her schedule with The X Factor is manic so she is using all of her spare time to make trips back to Newcastle and spend time with her family.’
Cheryl – who celebrated her first wedding anniversary with hubby Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini just a couple of months ago – hasn’t yet commented on the reports.
The former Girls Aloud star hinted that she was in Newcastle a few days ago though when she posted a photo of some local woodland on Instagram and got quite sentimental about it.
‘This is so pretty,’ Cheryl told her fans.
‘It is a beautiful green forest type area which we called “the dene” it’s real name is Jesmond Dene where we walked the dogs and played as kids and teenagers when I was growing up in Newcastle.
‘It has a section where they have animals (pets corner) some really lovely nature and even a cafe for when you need a stop.
‘It has a really specific smell that I can only describe as home #Newcastle’
