After comments of Cheryl being too skinny, Katie Hopkins also comments on her weight
The day wouldn’t be complete without a comment from outspoken queen of controversy Katie Hopkins. She’s made controversial comments before about overweight people, stay-at-home mums and even Caitlyn Jenner. No-one is safe from Katie’s words. Not even our favourite Geordie lass Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
With many people commenting how worried they were about how skinny the X factor judge seemed to look at the first auditions of the show, of course Katie also had something to say about it too.
‘I may not be a big fan of chubsters. But little Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is so tinky-tiny I feel cold when I look at her.’
The former Apprentice contestant continued to give Cheryl so words of – ehem – wisdom in an interview in The Sun, and even some style advice: ‘Cheryl, love, you need a good roast dinner and some thermals.’
‘A long john teamed with a tucked in vest is a look I am very familiar with and one I think you could pull off with some aplomb.’
Well, if it’s one thing we agree with is that the 32-year-old could pretty much wear anything and still look AMAZING. (How does she do it?)
The comments from Katie may come as a surprise to some, as she’s also given her tuppence about people at the opposite end of the weight spectrum, targeting another popstar.
40-year-old mum Katie made comments about singer Kelly Clarkson, when the American Idol winner performed on The Graham Norton Show.
‘Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers?’
‘Happily I have wide-screen.’
Thankfully, Kelly didn’t care about what Katie had to say: ‘She’s tweeted something nasty about me? That’s because she doesn’t know me. I’m awesome!’
Yes. Yes you are Kelly!
Katie’s not the only one to be talking about Cheryl’s weight of late, and she received a flood of comments on her Instagram, including a fan who said she looked like a ‘bag of bones’.
The former Girls Aloud member was unsurprisingly not too happy about the comments, and hit back at comments.
‘I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody too thing or a ‘bag of bones’. I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their intake? What is the difference?’
She went on to reveal that there was a sad reason behind her weight loss.
‘You have no idea what I have been through. Just losing my father in law v recently and everything that comes with that.
‘Not that I am or should justify myself to anyone.’
Whatever her weight or figure, as long as Cheryl happy and healthy and making those catchy songs that we know and love, then that’s all that matters. Now, excuse us while we go dance to Crazy, Stupid Love – it is Friday after all.
