Here's one reason why Michelle Keegan might not want to get married at Houghton House!

Mark Wright recently revealed he would wed Michelle Keegan at Houghton House in Norfolk… before swiftly claiming he was in fact bluffing when word got out.

But perhaps the former TOWIE star and his ex-Coronation Street actress fiancée cancelled plans there after learning some spooky goings on happened under that roof back in the 18th Century.

Apparently the building is haunted by Lady Dorothy Walpole dressed in brown satin. She was the second wife of
Viscount Townshend and, by all accounts, they had an unhappy union. So much so that
she eventually became deranged and was confined to the upper story at Raynham
Hall. Yikes! Not a good omen for our Mark and Michelle.

After Mark’s performance on his reality show Wright Around The World earlier this year, we doubt he’d be too pleased about getting hitched there.

Remember when he put on a bash for a group of very wealthy people in Somerset and had to live in a picturesque old mansion while filming?

Mark was pretty terrified that it may have been inhabited by ghosts and captioned a Twitter photo:
‘This was the house I lived in !! So haunted !! #scary,’

Michelle, 27, isn’t a fan of the afterlife either. She told Inside Soap magazine back in 2011 that the slightest thing can freak her out into thinking she’s being haunted by ghosts.

She said: ‘I don’t like heights, I don’t like sharks and one thing I really don’t like is the supernatural. I was once staying in a hotel, and when I woke up, I saw these three figures staring at me.
‘I was absolutely terrified – but then I realised it was just a painting hanging on the wall!’

Oh dear Michelle, be sure to remove all artwork with people in it wherever you end up getting hitched then.

Mark, also 27, popped the question to Michelle a year ago while on holiday in Dubai. At the time they had been in a relationship for less than a year.

When Mark – who is currently appearing on Strictly Come Dancing – recently spoke about plans for their nuptials he said: ‘Yes, we are getting married in Norfolk.

‘We just found the venue there and it is so amazing. We booked it straight away.’

He later claimed he knew people were listening in on the conversation and that it was a Wrighty trick.

He tweeted: ‘I told my friend a place I am getting married next year and now it’s in the press. Well guess what? I told my friend the wrong place because I can’t be honest in case this happens.

‘You have it wrong. In fact it couldn’t be further away.’
