Amy's dad angry after domain name taken

Mitch Winehouse vented his fury on Twitter after the domain name of his planned foundation for daughter Amy Winehouse was registered by someone else.

The singer’s dad had already received donations made payable to the Amy Winehouse Foundation – a charity helping young people affected by substance abuse – and realised he’d be forced to return them after a stranger purchased the web address.

We all have to bombard the tabloids websites to put pressure on this d******* who stole our foundation name,’ Mitch, 60, Tweeted on Saturday.

Instead of concentrating on allocating funding I am having to send cheques back cos we don’t haven’t got bank ac in that name.’

The buyer was later identified as Martin McCann who – after insisting he’d done nothing wrong – said he wanted to negotiate with Mitch.

It seems we have got our foundation back,’ Mitch informed his Twitter followers on Monday.

Amy’s death appears to have made many people people struggling to beat addictions realise they need professinal help and the Priory has reported a surge in clients checking themselves in.

This year has been much busier than last,’ a spokesman tells the Sunday Mirror. ‘There’s been an increase since Amy’s death.’
