Richard thinks getting frisky keeps marriage alive
Richard Madeley thinks a good sex life is vital for a long-lasting relationship.
The presenter has been married to wife Judy Finnigan for 28 years and strongly believes that age shouldn’t stop couples from getting frisky.
‘I think relationships can evolve to a point in old age where sex becomes less important but I’m 58 not 98,’ says Richard.
‘In most dynamic marriages, sex is a very important component. You can deny that at your peril!
‘One of the reasons that most marriages fail is because there is a growing sexual incompatibility.
‘Research shows most happily married people in their 70s and 80s still have a functioning sex life and so they should.’
Richard – who presented This Morning with Judy, 66, from 1988 to 2001 – has published two novels and would consider penning a saucy book like Fifty Shades Of Grey in the future.
‘I really like writing about women,’ Richard tells Blinkbox Books.
‘That is probably from doing 13 years on This Morning which had a 60-70% female audience. So much was clearly angled towards sexuality.
‘As a bloke, you couldn’t help to pick up on all kinds of aspects of what it is to be a woman today! I think I absorbed quite a lot.’
