Congratulations Kate Middleton and Prince William! A second royal baby is on its way. Here's everything we know so far
Get the bunting out! There’s another royal baby on the way for Prince William and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge.
Kate’s pregnancy has prompted excitement throughout the nation as we gear up for another agonising wait to find out if it’s a Prince or Princess.
Speculation Kate might be pregnant has been rife for a few months and William even talked about his hopes for a sibling for Prince George with members of the public during royal engagements recently.
Here’s all you need to know about the new royal baby and how the late Princess Diana’s psychic PREDICTED Baby Cambridge’s arrival next year…
1. Kate and Wills dropped baby hints early
An excited Duke of Cambridge let slip the couple were already trying for baby number two back in April after being presented with a shawl for Prince George while on their tour of New Zealand, saying: ‘You might have to make another soon!’
2. Prince George and the baby will be close in age
The age gap between Prince George and his sibling will be similar to that of Kate and her sister Pippa and Prince William and younger brother Harry. George is now 13 months old so he’ll be less than two when his royal sibling is born next spring. There are 20 months between Kate and Pippa, and two years and three months between Wills and Harry.
3. Could the baby be on the throne one day?
Baby Cambridge junior will be FOURTH in line to the throne, bumping Prince Harry ‘the spare’ down to number five. But as sibling to Prince George, he or she will not be expected to ever become King or Queen.
4. The new baby could be a future party animal
Second-born royals are usually less cautious and enjoy the freedom that comes with not having to prepare to rule as monarch. Prince Harry has traditionally been dubbed the Party Prince in contrast to sensible older brother and future monarch William. Harry was famously pictured naked playing strip billiards in Las Vegas. Naughty!
5. Baby’s new home
The new baby Cambridge will not only enjoy crawling the corridors of Kensington Palace when they’re in London, but will mostly be raised in the couple’s grand new home – Amner Hall in Norfolk near the Queen‘s Sandringham residence.
6. Spooky predictions…
Last June, psychic to William’s mother Diana, Princess of Wales, Sally Morgan told Now that Kate would have another baby in 2015… and Sally says the couple will go on to raise a family of FOUR children.
7. Place your bets!
Odds are being given on names for the new royal baby already. Elizabeth is the favourite according to Paddy Power along with Henry and Victoria at 10/1. Charlotte and Arthur are among the frontrunners. Equal odds of 10/11 were given on the gender of the baby.
