Economic climate has taken its toll
Anthea Turner has been left devastated by the credit crunch.
The TV presenter, who owns a £5 million mansion in Surrey, runs a buy-to-let property empire with her husband Grant Bovey.
But falling house prices have meant that their 3 companies have gone into administration.
‘Our net worth was over £100 million – now it’s an awful lot less,’ Grant says. ‘Just a small fraction of what it was.’
Anthea, 48, who fronts BBC3’s Perfect Housewife, is distraught.
‘Our backs are against the wall – we may even lose our mansion,’ she tells the News Of The World.
‘We are in it like lots of other people in this country who have been bitten by economic circumstances. I can’t remember the last time I slept properly because of the worry.’
It is thought she and Grant, 47 – who also own a £5 million chateau in France – will downsize to a smaller property in the New Year.
