Mamma Mia! creator Judy Craymer on board

The Spice Girls musical has at last been given the green light.

Whispers that Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Mel B and Geri Halliwell were keen to launch a West End show have been circulating for months.

And now Judy Craymer, the woman behind Mamma Mia!, has agreed to develop Viva Forever.

She was persuaded to produce the project by Geri and the band’s one-time manager Simon Fuller.

‘It is important to me that the excitement, style and humour of the Spice Girls is well represented on stage,’ says Judy.

The production is expected to be on the London stage within two or three years.
