From Frankie Bridge's witchy wonder to Louis Smith's terrifying tango - we LOVE Halloween week on Strictly Come Dancing

BOO! It’s Halloween weekend and we’re in for a spook-tacular fright night on Strictly Come Dancing.

This year the competition is seriously hotting up and we can’t wait to see who pulls off a terrifying tango or a jumpy jive (sorry, we can’t stop) on that Strictly dance floor.

And let’s face it, whether it’s a trick or treat Halloween week ALWAYS throws up some very memorable performances that stay in our minds long after we’ve packed our creepy costumes away.

Peter Andre OUT of Strictly Come Dancing soon?

Here’s some of the best – and cringiest – dances from Strictly Come Dancing Halloween nights of past…

Louis Smith’s tango

Fresh from his success at the London Olympics, Louis Smith proved himself to be an amazing dancer as well as gymnast in the 2012 series. His tango with partner Flavia Cacace on Halloween week was a particular highlight – the bit at the ending where he jumps back up again genuinely gives us the creeps.

Scott Mills’ foxtrot

Okay, so this is definitely more cringe than incredible, but let’s just relive the wonder that is Scott Mills dressed as Uncle Fester doing a completely bonkers foxtrot with Joanne Clifton in Strictly Come Dancing 2014. This was sadly Scott’s last dance of the series as he was eliminated that weekend, but what a way to go out eh?

Kara Tointon’s paso doble

Remember back in 2010 when we all wondered if Kara Tointon and dance partner Artem Chigvintsev were a thing (which they later transpired to be)? Check out their chemistry in their powerful paso doble to The Phantom Of The Opera. We’re still a bit distraught that they split up last year…

Sid Owen’s cha cha

We’re not sure how to explain this ‘dance’ by EastEnders’ Sid Owen and Ola Jordan from the 2012 series of Strictly Come Dancing. It’s kind of a lot of walking about in time (or not) to the Ghostbusters theme. Just watch and see the cringeness for yourself.

Frankie Bridge’s tango

Not gonna lie, we might have got a tad emotional over this one. On last year’s Strictly Frankie Bridge pulled off the biggest transformation of Halloween week by becoming a green witch and performing THIS spine-tingling tango with Kevin Clifton to Defying Gravity. She even gets to fly!

Nancy Dell’Olio’s rumba

Let’s end on a particularly frightening note. Possibly one of the most gloriously awful spooky dances came from Nancy Dell’Olio and her dance partner Anton Du Beke in the 2011 series. This bizarre routine – which starts with Nancy emerging from a coffin, as you do – earned the lowest score of the night, getting just 14 points and resulting in Nancy’s exit from the show. We seriously had to watch it through our fingers – awkward.
