There's no business like shoe business!
They were the first of the TOWIE stars to open their fashion shop Minnie’s Boutique back in 2011, Sam Faiers’s gone on to design a clothing collection for Very.co.uk, while Billie’s created a baby range that’s stocked at Mothercare. That’s as well as (deep breath) best selling perfumes, book deals, pop up shops, fitness videos and tanning ranges to name a few.
Well it seems there’s no time to rest for the TOWIE stars, as Sam and Billie have just launched their debut footwear collection in collaboration with Carlton London.
With cult courts, summery sandals, wonder wedges and pretty pumps, the range has got all the hottest summer footwear collections covered, with prices starting from just £19.99.
So what does make the perfect pair of shoes? We met up with Sam & Billie to discuss all things shoes. (Yep, our job is REALLY hard sometimes).
NOW: Hi Sam and Billie! Congrats on your footwear collection! What do you look for when you’re choosing shoes?
Sam: ‘It’s all about style but also comfort! We didn’t used to care when we were younger but over the years we’ve found it so important to be comfy in what you wear.’
Billie: ‘We love wearing styles which are really versatile, that’s why we’ve included the courts in loads of different colour ways. They’re perfect for work with cigarette pants, or with summer dresses for day. We’ve been wearing them all day and they’re so comfy!’
Now: What’s the best thing about new shoes?
Billie: ‘New shoes make me feel AMAZING. I can be wearing a really simple outfit, and a pair of shoes are guaranteed to make it really stand out.’
Sam: ‘There is nothing nicer than new shoes – that box fresh smell is to die for! I’m obsessed with buying new shoes as scuffs on shoes is my pet hate! I think I own about 60 pairs!’
Now: Do you ever share shoes? Do you ever argue over shoes?
Sam: ‘Now we don’t live together we don’t share as much, but we have been known to borrow the odd pair. Billie borrowed a pair of my Jimmy Choos once. They were suede and I’d just had them professionally cleaned and re-heeled. She gave them back and they were trashed! She would have killed me if it were the other way round!’
Billie: ‘They weren’t THAT bad! She over reacted! We always used to argue about shoes and clothes, nothing else!’
Now: If you could only have one shoe for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Billie: ‘I’d definitely have a wedge! They’re comfy, flattering to the leg and you can wear them to any occasion. Plus I’m small so I like the height!’
Sam: ‘Sandals are my favourite. I’m quite casual day to day, but I like the designs in our collections with the floral detail – they make them look more glam too!’
