TOWIE star James 'Arg' Argent will try to clean up his act by spending the Christmas period in rehab
The 27-year-old is to take time away from his loved ones to reportedly overcome his partying problems at the famous Priory clinic, where he will get 24-hour care.
The Only Way is Essex bosses are said to have axed him from the ITVBe show after a string of incidents, which questioned his commitment to the programme he has been a part of since it started in 2010.
‘James was devastated by his suspension from the show and is truly sorry for letting down the cast and production team on the last series,’ a source told The Sun newspaper.
‘He’s made the brave decision to spend his birthday and the festive period in rehab.’
Arg – who had an on-and-off relationship with co-star Lydia Bright since before the show was first broadcast – is apparently determined to get back on track with a clean-living lifestyle.
‘He knows this is the most difficult season to manage his lifestyle so he is removing temptation by ensuring he can’t go out,’ the source continued. ‘He is feeling really good about his time there and is upbeat and positive.‘
Arg was banned from coming back to the show after he allegedly failed a cocaine test.
It’s believed the network bosses only wanted to temporarily remove him from screens earlier this year for ‘persistent lateness’ but now he will be missing the Christmas special on Wednesday The Only Way Is Essexmas and has been suspended.
He worried fans in August when he went missing after he failed to catch a flight to Majorca.
Then in September the TOWIE favourite was reportedly seen with what appeared to be his own vomit on himself when he landed on a Spanish party island for The Only Way Is Ibiza this summer. Other reports say he was also escorted off the plane for being too drunk.
