The boys visit Harry's home in Cheshire

Harry Styles is born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire on 1 February 1994.

In June 2010, the curly-haired star auditions for The X Factor, singing a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s hit Isn’t She Lovely.

Harry doesn’t make it through to the Boys category, and says he’s ‘gutted’.

However, he’s called back and placed in a band with four other teenage lads – Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan – who also didn’t make the cut.
They name themselves One Direction and are mentored by Simon Cowell.

In September with One Direction, Harry Styles performs at Simon’s house in LA, singing Natalie Imbruglia’s track Torn.

The group make it through to the live shows and continue to wow judges and viewers each week. They eventually bag a spot in the final alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle.

As the TV talent contest reaches its final stage, the boys travel about the UK to each other’s hometowns.

Thanks to his new fame with One Direction, Harry Styles receives a very warm welcome back to Cheshire.

A huge number of admirers line the streets of Holmes Chapel hoping to catch a glimpse of their idol and his group.

Some fans clutch banners stating their love for The X Factor hopeful, while others are armed with pictures and posters for Harry to sign.

Louis, Niall, Zayn and Liam join Harry at his family house before stopping by Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School.

Knowing that he’ll be spending lots of time outside on the chilly December day with One Direction, Harry Styles wraps up warm in a cosy knitted sweater and padded gilet.
