This week’s weather mantra:

FORECAST: Bright and breezy and rather cool – much like you, right!? This week will see showers in parts (Scotland we’re looking at you). In fact, it’s your typical meh-weather week. Is it autumn? NO. Is it summer? Eek, not really.

Start with a loose-fit tee (H&M wins here) in white, grey or stripes (£7.99) – layering a shirt on top and perhaps even a waterproof trench coat (£69.99, Zara) if the sky’s looking suspect.

Add ripped jeans (Topshop have a hawt selection in 34 styles, these are £45) but should you need to be smart, swap in loose fit trousers from Zara instead.

Wear khaki where possible – it’s all the celebrities can talk about this week. Best of all, when worn with leopard print or stripes it’ll bag you easy kudos on the commute. Now love this £22.99 New Look number.

Pop an umbrella in your bag – a jolly brolly like this £8.98 Amazon one should keep your spirits up. Oh, and don’t forget your sunglasses too, just in case the sun puts out! Try Accessoryo for ridiculously good catwalk copies, here for £16.95.

But the most important part? THE SHOES! Nothing feels as mis’ as a pair of soggy sandals – so switch in some slide-on plimsolls instead (£25.99, Zara). These bad boys are still big news for autumn – and much less depressing than pulling out the boots and tights.

Oh, and while we’re on the subject… For the love of fashion PLEASE JUST SAY NO TO HOSIERY! For the time being anyway. We have six months of tights to (not) look forward to. Bare those knees for as long as you dare!

Top it all off with a fedora that looks fash but in fact will just keep your head dry and/or cool! ASOS do the best, £20.

WATCH! How to weatherproof this week’s wardrobe!
