Did Mrs Beckham buy iconic Audrey Hepburn dress?
Rumours are rife that Victoria Beckham or Coleen McLoughlin could be the proud new owner of the Givenchy dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the legendary movie Breakfast At Tiffany’s.
The dress was sold at Christies auction house for a record £410,000 – six times the most ever paid for a film frock – after designer Hubert de Givenchy donated it to Dominic Lapiere to raise money for their charity City Of Joy Aid, which supports India’s poor.
Both WAGs are huge Audrey Hepburn fans – Posh is said to already own one of the actress’s diamond chokers, and Coleen has an entire room in the house she shares with boyfriend Wayne Rooney decorated with Audrey memorabilia.
In the 1961 movie, Audrey, who played flighty heroine Holly Golightly, is seen emerging in the dress – complete with long black gloves and a pearl choker – from a cab on New York’s Fifth Avenue after an all-night date.
Christie’s wouldn’t reveal the buyer and Victoria’s spokesman told The Daily Mail: ‘I have no idea if she’s been involved in the bidding.’
