Jeans with jean shirts with jean jackets...Triple denim is the fashion trend that just won't go away!#ThrowbackThursday

First there was double denim. Now we have triple denim thanks to Ralph Lauren.

In a throwback to the 90s, we spotted double-denim suits on the catwalk at Ralph Lauren‘s Purple Label and Polo Ralph Lauren shows earlier this week and one of the denim ensembles even had a waistcoat – technically making it a TRIPLE denim outfit!

Oh Ralph, what have you started?

In honor of this, for this week’s fashion Throwback Thursday (#TBT), all hail the double denim trend!

We’ve searched the 90s high and low for the best and worst culprits so next time you’re raiding the high street rails, you too can learn from their mistakes.

Over the years we’ve seen some denim massacres – who can forget Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears‘ ‘Canadian Tuexedos’?

OF COURSE the worst offenders were B*Witched with their C’est La Vie single cover… come to think of it, when weren’t they in denim? I’m pretty sure they invented the trend!

But, we’ve also had some double denim fashion miracles and for that, we salute you RihannaAlexa Chung and those infamous Guess campaigns – you make double denim look good!

So if you’re heading out this weekend and are wondering how not to make the same mistakes and take a leaf from Miranda Kerr‘s book, then just remember these two key rules:

1. Add a pop of color – double denim can easily be broken up with a splash of color inbetween. Denim jacket, coloured tee and jeans. Done!

2. Mix your shades – changing the shades of the denim slightly makes it far easier to wear like Alexa has in our gallery. Black and chambray always make a cute pairing too! Simples.
