Kate’s dress was fit for a princess and will go down in Royal fashion history
The gown was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, but it was timeless.
Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge – as she is now to be referred – chose a classic style with a deep V-neckline, strapless bodice and elegant lace sleeves.
The hand-embroidered creation with tiny silk-covered buttons at the back and at the wrist is reminiscent of the dress worn by the late Princess Grace of Monaco.
Designed by MGM costume designer Helen Rose, former Hollywood actress Grace wore the waisted number for her 1956 marriage to Prince Rainier.
Kate’s wedding dress also reminded we fashionistas of the late Princess Margaret’s silk organza Norman Hartnell wedding gown.
The Queen’s sister wore the full-skirted style to marry Antony Armstrong-Jones in 1960.
