The Manchester-based fashion designer Nadine Merabi bowls over crowd with her collection for new fashion brand Ono Uno
Designer Nadine Merabi has launched a new fashion collection called Ono Uno.
The star-studded event took place in boutique bowling alley All Star Lanes, and saw stunning models in smouldering smokey eye make-up and modern beehives, strutting down the bowling alleys, to music by Kasabian, The Gossip and Goldfrapp.
VIPs such as Made In Chelsea‘s Jamie Laing, Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent, Debbie Rush, The Fall’s Karen Hassan and Commonwealth medal winner Diane Modahl attended the launch held in conjunction with British Vogue’s Fashion Night Out.
Nadine has dressed some of the UK’s most beautiful TV actresses such as Now’s very own fashion and beauty columnist Michelle Keegan, Catherine Tyldesley, Roxanne Pallett, Brooke Vincent, Georgia May Foote and Michelle Collins.
‘I am so happy to have launched Ono Uno in such a unique way. I haven’t ever heard of a fashion show in a bowling alley before and like to try and do things a little bit outside the box,’ says Nadine.
‘My signature style is the ‘wow’ dress. It is all in the simplicity of the cut and shaping the silhouette of a woman.
‘I like to make my designs timeless and elegant, with middle eastern influences staying strong throughout.
‘The theme for the collection is Black Widow – very seductive, sexy and dark. I used deep and rich colours and fabric in jet blacks, deep blues, vivid green and glittering gold, incorporating a mixture of textures and trimmings.
‘The pieces are made of leather, mesh, lace, mixed with flutters of feathers, enchanting shimmery and beautiful, heavy embellishment.’
The Black Widow collection will be available in Selfridges, select nationwide boutiques and at Ono Uno from 28 October.
